Facebook Bans ‘Conservation Group’ Sierra Club

(San Francisco, CA – ) In a surprising move, social media giant Facebook, Inc. has permanently banned storied environmental conservation group The Sierra Club.

“There’s no room on our platform for this type of ‘conservation’ hate speech”, says Facebook’s head of Trust and Safety Howard Summers.

The ban appears to result from a Tuesday-evening appeal the Official Sierra Club Facebook account made to its followers.

“We’re one of the most well-respected conservation organizations on the planet,” the group wrote. “Please donate today.”

Sierra Club spokes-spirit Essence Cloudflight came out swinging, fiercely denying any association with political conservatives.

Cloudflight, 27, said she has been on the front lines of the fight against right-wing fascism. “Last year, some jerk wearing a MAGA [Make America Great Again] hat came into the Pinkberry where I was in line, and I glared at him the whole time until I was out the door with my Orange Peach Mango frozen yogurt,” she said.

“Unfortunately he didn’t appear to have noticed me,” she added.

The American Civil Liberties Union released a statement applauding the decision.

“We at the ACLU believe in the fundamental American value that nothing is ever worth conserving,” the statement reads.
